Inaugural Bay Bash a Success for Clean Water
What a night! THANK YOU to the more than 200 supporters who joined us for the launch of Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper! We ate all the oysters, danced the night away, and talked with so many people who care so much about our local waters.
We were thankful to hear from Amy Grant, Upstream Watch’s founder (Upstream Watch is the legacy organization to Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper), current board chair Ethan Shaw, and our exectutive director, Pete Nichols.
Remarks focused on protecting clean water throughout the Penobscot Bay watershed while being science-based and unapologetic advocates for local waters; building collaborative and grassroots support through community engagement and outreach; and holding polluters accountable.
