LOGAN PERKINS

Logan Perkins is paddler, homesteader, and public defender with decades of experience in environmental and social justice organizing. Logan graduated from Colby College in 2001 with a BA in Geology and earned a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2012. Since graduating law school she has worked primarily as counsel for  people charged with crimes who cannot afford to hire a lawyer. 

In 2024, Logan became the first District Defender in Penobscot County, leading the effort to build and develop the Highlands Region Public Defenders. Logan spends many hours year round in various boats on Penobscot Bay, and gazes--sometimes with longing--at the Penobscot River from her public defender office window in Bangor.
