Originally from the Chesapeake region, Tim grew up on the banks of the Chester River fishing, sailing, and swamping his family’s rowboat. With these formative experiences, Tim has dedicated his career to protecting and restoring natural waters. Since moving to Maine in 2021, Tim has served as Executive Director for Midcoast Conservancy and the Megunticook Watershed Association where he led both organizations through rigorous strategic planning efforts to maximize resources and mission impacts.
Before joining Midcoast Conservancy, he served as the Chester Riverkeeper and watershed manager in Chestertown, Maryland, and prior to that worked for a sustainability consulting firm outside of Washington, DC for nearly a dozen years where he was a business development executive responsible for managing all aspect of business development, marketing and communications, and secured multi-year government contracts up to $50 million dollars in value.
Tim has held many leadership positions with a diverse set of community organizations, including the Maine Coastal Observing Alliance, Waterkeepers Chesapeake, and the Friends of Rosin Creek. In addition to an honors degree in environmental science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Tim holds a certificate in not-for-profit leadership from the University of Delaware, and is a certified Master Naturalist. His 20 years of professional experience include water quality monitoring, environmental restoration, environmental policy and advocacy, communications, community engagement, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.
