CHLOE JOULE
Board of Directors

A native to Maine, Chloe grew up exploring the distinctive beauty of the Maine shoreline. Though she has traveled and lived outside of the state, she has always been pulled back to the coast. Working with DMR’s Marine Mammal Stranding Program cemented her passion for the health and wellbeing of Maine’s waterways. In 2013, Chloe moved to Islesboro island in Penobscot Bay and developed a deep connection with this unique waterway, where mountains meet the sea.

For the past twelve years, Chloe has worn many hats as a staff member of Islesboro Islands Trust, a small but robust land trust on the island. While she has done everything from trail work and preserve stewardship to conservation easement monitoring and office administration; most of her career has been focused on IIT’s extensive environmental education programming and community outreach. In September 2024, Chloe took over the Executive Director position from long-time ED, Steve Miller, and has enjoyed getting further involved in IIT’s Advocacy mission.

When she is not taking her daily trail walks with her dog and family, Chloe enjoys working in her garden, crafting, and further exploring Islesboro and Penobscot Bay by foot, bike and kayak.
