Welcome Seth Walton As the New Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper
We are thrilled to announce Seth Walton as the New Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper!
Seth is an outdoor educator, program founder, and public-sector professional with a career spanning outdoor leadership, public safety, maritime operations, education, nonprofit development, and government administration. Seth most recently was the founder and lead instructor of a certificate-granting Outdoor Leadership Program at the MidCoast School of Technology. He is also a Registered Master Maine Guide, a PADI Divemaster, a member of the Coastal Mountains Search and Rescue Team, a Monitor Skipper with the Maine Island Trail Association, and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado…phew!!
Seth officially starts on July 2, and you can read his full bio here.
Seth is clearly well qualified, and was selected from a talented pool of applicants, but what impressed us the most was his passion for and deep personal knowledge of Penobscot Bay and the waters throughout the watershed. Please join us in welcoming Seth to the Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper team!
Want to meet Seth in person? Come out to our Summer Solstice Celebration to meet with Seth, as well as other Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper staff and board members, at the Little River Station (285 Northport Ave, Belfast) on Thursday, June 18 from 5 - 7 PM. This is a casual FREE event with light refreshments, but we do ask you to register on our website through this link so we can plan accordingly.
We’d also like to remind you that we are in the midst of our first membership drive, and are welcoming all new and renewing members! If you have already joined or donated, THANK YOU, and if not, please consider doing so today!
